Terms.
Last updated: 24 October 2026. ContinueMind is for people aged 18 and over. By creating an account or contributing, you agree to these rules. Contact the site owner at hello@continuemind.com.
Your account and contributions
Keep your account secure. Use an author name you are entitled to use, and publish only material you have the necessary rights and permissions to share. Do not impersonate another person, publish private personal information, infringe rights, harass others or post unlawful or exploitative content. Report concerns through the chapter reporting control or the contact address above.
Ownership and collaboration
You retain whatever rights you hold in your contributions. Posting gives ContinueMind a non-exclusive permission to store, display and operate your writing as part of this service, with attribution. By contributing to an open story, you also permit other members to build on that published path within ContinueMind. They may take it in creative directions you dislike, within the content rules. You do not gain ownership of another person's writing by continuing it.
Commercial publishing and adaptations
Permission to collaborate within ContinueMind does not automatically authorise publishing a combined story as a book, adapting it for film or television, or commercially exploiting another contributor's material outside this service. A proposed commercial use requires the necessary permissions from the relevant rights holders under separate written agreements. This may include rights in earlier chapters and shared characters or other protected material, not just the final chapter.
These Terms do not establish royalty percentages or promise payment. Contributor shares, credits and other commercial terms must be agreed separately for the particular project. Shares are not automatically equal or determined solely by word count, chapter count or popularity. Contributing to an unrelated branch does not, by itself, create an entitlement to income from another path.
Hosting your writing does not transfer your ownership to ContinueMind or automatically entitle the platform to a share of your commercial income. Any platform fee, commission or representation arrangement requires your separate express agreement. Platform-contributor content does not come with a guarantee that all rights needed for an external commercial project have been cleared.
Publication stability
You may fully edit or delete a published chapter until its first published continuation. Once a continuation is published, the parent permanently locks, even if that continuation is later removed. Only supported spelling corrections are then available, with revision history. Original authors can choose their preferred path but cannot remove another writer's work merely because they dislike its direction.
Moderation, privacy and legal issues are assessed separately. A removed chapter may leave a structural placeholder so acceptable descendant contributions remain accessible. Publication rules do not remove statutory rights.
Platform contributors
Some fictional profiles and contributions are generated using AI and are explained on their author profiles. They do not represent independent human members. AI can continue a human-written chapter only with that chapter author's explicit permission and platform enablement. Disabling that permission stops future AI additions; existing contributions remain governed by these publication rules. See About platform contributors.
Moderation and service changes
We may restrict access or remove content for rule violations, security, privacy or legal reasons. Contact us to ask for review. The service may change or become unavailable; keep your own copy of important writing. Any limitations operate only to the extent permitted by applicable law and do not exclude rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
See our Privacy page for data use and requests. Operator details and the legal terms will receive further review before a wider public launch.
