Information we use
We use your email address, account identifier, sign-in details and author display name to operate your account. Google sign-in provides account identity information through Supabase. Your password is handled by the authentication provider; it is not displayed to administrators.
We store your chapters, private drafts, saved paths, reading progress, likes, invitations, content reports and necessary administrative records. Published writing and author names are public. Drafts and account email addresses are not public. Hosting and authentication services may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to provide and protect the service.
Why and with whom
Account and writing information is used to provide the service you request. Security, moderation and limited operational records support our legitimate interests in maintaining a reliable community. We use consent where required for optional processing and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Supabase provides the database and authentication; Vercel hosts the website; Google provides optional sign-in; GitHub Actions checks for scheduled publications. Access is limited to what each service needs. If you opt into AI continuations, the relevant public story path may be processed by OpenAI through the site owner's writing workflow. No private drafts are sent for this purpose. Provider processing may involve countries outside your own; applicable contractual safeguards govern those transfers.
Cookies and browser storage
Authentication cookies keep you signed in. Local browser storage remembers your theme and visited chapters; session storage protects unfinished writing and discovery preferences. We do not currently operate advertising trackers or optional audience-analytics cookies. You can clear browser storage, but doing so may remove local preferences or unsaved recovery copies.
Retention and your choices
Account information is retained while your account is active. Published chapters may need to remain when other writers have continued them; publication stability does not override applicable privacy rights. Private drafts remain until you delete them or request account assistance. Security and administrative records are retained only as needed for their purpose and applicable obligations; service-provider backups can persist for their backup cycle.
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or an export of your personal information, or object where applicable, by emailing the site owner. We may need to verify your identity. We assess requests involving shared stories individually and can consider removing personal attribution while preserving other writers' contributions. You may complain to your local data-protection authority; in the UK, contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes and contact
Material changes will be explained here and, when appropriate, brought to your attention. Contact hello@continuemind.com with privacy or retention questions. Detailed operator identity and retention arrangements are being finalised before a wider public launch.
